Weddings

 The Baptist Church has neither the rights nor obligations of the established church with regard to marriage requests from the locality. Nevertheless, members and friends of the fellowship who are in regular attendance and connection or who have direct family links to the church can make their vows and venue their wedding at the church.

Clearly it is vital that marriage plans be advised to the Pastor-Rev. Bob Coffey-long in advance. Because arrangements with the local registrar at Sidcup need to be made by any couple planning marriage an early visit to the pastor to ensure the availability of the church and to lay a general framework in planning the “big day” is but right. Always remember that church

 Since a church wedding is a triangular affair-involving the couple and the God and Father who both ordained this happy union of two souls and minds and bodies for their lasting good and that of society too it is right that allied spiritual interests be taken care of too.

 Worship of the creator of all this good is the first right commitment. Begin here together and establish your link with a Christian fellowship. Prepare well for the years ahead together by committing to a short series of discussions over the months prior to your wedding with the minister in a Preparation Course. Better still engage in an Alpha Course together and discover how best to establish a really good home and put together the building blocks of a shared faith that will take you through the vicissitudes of the future.
