Funerals

Death is no respecter of persons. When a dear friend or relative of yours is called out of this life into the presence of God it is a deeply traumatic experience. The church stands ready to support you should you consider we could be of real help in your need. The pastor would be pleased to call and speak with your family. One of the hardest things about a family loss is that soon after we have shed our first tears and begun to feel the weight of grief we must face the practicality of arranging a funeral. To know that God Himself is just a prayer away and that He understands your frustration and deep emotions is good-but to have someone listen to you and speak to God about all you are coming through is a real help; to be sure that the time at the graveside or the crematorium is taken care of and that comfortable words from the good book will be read and  the last words will be words like those that graced the lips of our loving Lord Jesus in his death when he committed his spirit to the Father. To be able to take up life again with the sure promise of Christ “I am the resurrection and the life –he who believes in me will live even though he dies”-this gives the soul an anchor amid the waves of fear and doubt that shake the frail craft of our lives at such a time.
